Hi guys n girls.
so along storey short- I was driving to kulin from Denmark wa and motor started to get hot I pulled up and all hoses warm, rad warm on both sides but cool I middle. Water I tank cooler...
so I end up blowing a hose and end of trip... I just got it home and was going to flush rad and replace a few hoses, when cleaning the lower part of the thermastate houseing it has corrosion and holed.... ****.
so my question is two part.
1- any help with overheating problems?
and 2- what to do about thermastate housing... Weld? Or source a new one... Its bolted to the head is it ok to remove?
its fot the 3.9l izuzu diesel motor I it.
any help to get landy back on road ve great.
thanks you
I'd extract the rusty fitting from the housing and tap a thread into it to take a brass hose nipple. It's probably much easier with the housing removed from the engine. A plumber or engineering shop should be able to do that for you.
Hi
I had a spare one here from a different motor that is pulled apart. Undid the seven bolts and cleaned of the gasket and put the other one on with a new gasket. All good
