Been away but time to sort...

So time to sort this out.

The housing has a hole in the join where the hose goes on.
Is it ok to take the whole assembly off?

    Repair ways? weld?

I'd extract the rusty fitting from the housing and tap a thread into it to take a brass hose nipple. It's probably much easier with the housing removed from the engine. A plumber or engineering shop should be able to do that for you.

    Thanks LRO

So must be common for them to rust out.

How are you going to fix?
Is it alright to take the whole unit off the head like its bolted on?

    cheers

    Hi
I had a spare one here from a different motor that is pulled apart. Undid the seven bolts and cleaned of the gasket and put the other one on with a new gasket. All good
