Increasing the tyre size a little can compensate for a lower ratio. Of course the down side is that it also marginally reduces your low range ability.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

This is an image from Isuzurover (ben) in a thread off mine from 2013. http://www.aulro.com/afvb/isuzu-land...ml#post1991964

38 tooth input gear should be the Q case. You cannot make a 38-tooth input gear with T-size teeth.
My broken Q case posted above was a 36D from a late model Disco 1.
The case I replaced it with was a 28D 1.222

If you already have a t-case, just pull the pan off and you can see instantly if it is a Q-case or not.

Q gears are on the right of the equivalent gears in a T transfer case in this pic.

Isuzu County's with LT85 and Lt230 were 1.003 as well.
Try Sitec, I sent one over to him and I think he didn't end up using it.

I also know of another 1.003 around here, so sing out if you don't do any good over your way.
