    Aircon compressor mounting

I have a 4BD1T, to mount the ac compressor can I simply get the parts from a truck wrecker and put another pulley on the crankshaft? Is it this simple or a bit more to it?

i made brackets for mine as I remember reading the truck ones needed modifying, not sure if the perenties had brackets or not to suit.
As for the front pulley, I bought one off ebay, solid pulley to fit a holden V8, was a bolt on fit and then just ran an A belt. Will see if I can find the link

Thanks, although I have a 110 Perentie it has a factory 4BD1T so if it comes from an NPR or similar it should bolt on depending on chassis/exhaust/alternator clearances. Seems to be a lot of room there but I am aware there was a LR specifix bracket but this may only be specific to the 4BD1.

Yes it is that simple. If you can find a truck motor with one on it at the wreckers. You will also need the double pulley that bolts onto the crankshaft harmonic balancer and the adjustment jockey. Robert42 on Remlr has a crankshaft pulley for sale in the markets there. He got a few made up when he was installing his some months ago.

Thanks for this seems quite simple, just need to gather all the bits. There's a wrecker nearby that I will check to see what I can get. I think I might be able to squeeze the condenser behind the grill in front of the radiator. I can see why LR increased this space on the ac models though.
