Check your connections to your battery and starter motor, they can foul or become loose, then check the connections to the alternator they can rattle off. In no particular order... Good luck
Hey, so I'm hoping I can pick someone's brain out there.
I've just bought an 85 county with the Isuzu motor and she runs pretty well except when going up hills, of any sort, but that will be a discussion for another thread... This morning I jumped in to start her up , clicked the key over till the ignition lights came on then one more turn to start it up and Nothing..... Electricals gone!!!
Any ideas what this might be?Any tips or help would be madly appreciated!!

There is a start relay in the fuse box which should "click" when start position is hit. Check battery voltage first.

If it's been starting fine with no problems then it's most likely nothing major, as suggested it's probably just a loose connection.
When you turn the key to the start position, is there any noises at all, such as a clicking or clunking noise from the starter motor, if so it might just be a low battery. It could also be something like dirty/worn contacts in the starter solenoid, but definitely start with the simple stuff first, like loose wires, before delving any deeper.

Yep like the others have said, check battery voltage and loose connections. Even clean battery terminals, mine did the same as yours once, was a bad earth connection from battery. Cheers, Andrew.
Most likely a battery connection, or possibly the chassis end of the negative lead or the connection onto the starter.
But the last time this happened to me, only six months ago, it was a sufdden, total, battery failure - just driven 60km and started twice, and the third time, nothing! Jump started it and drove to a battery place.

If you have a multimeter connect it to the battery terminals (touching directly on the terminals not just on the cables).
Turn key to crank position. If the voltage doesn't drop much then it's a connection/earth issue as others have said. If it does drop lots then it's the battery.
Quick thing to try after checking for obvious looseness of terminals etc is to run a jumper lead from -ve battery terminal to engine block or transmission. If that works then you know it's an earth issue.
Stuffed/broken earth strap from chassis to transmission is not uncommon.

The standard link on the County is a strap across the left front engine mount. This often is covered in oil leaking from the vacuum pump oil return, and sometimes develops a bad connection at either end. I ran an additional link from the chassis to the transfer case.

Hey thanks heaps for replies... Will check all those options when we get back from camping! It has been starting fine every time before this and the ignition lights even came on this time too but as soon as I turned the last click everything cut out!! Weird!!
Will try terminals and connections and at last resort NRMA premium!!! Legends
Classic connection problem symptoms, but could also be internal to the battery.
