If I remember correctly it was done by the same mob that did the bushranger conversion kits for the disco/rangie of the same era. the concept was also pressed into service in the perentie range by the military, from memory initially for air defence units hauling a radar and its crew.
Thanks, I am learning. I really like that body style.
As the conversion I have now is to small for me to use as a camper, I don't fit on the bed, I am thinking about converting it to crew cab, something like the picture but then with a standard Land Rover crew cab roof.

Sadly, I will not be able to see it on its "for sale" webpage and dream anymore. I thought it was well kitted out for outback travel.

Oh, you don't have to change your forum name. Just get a 6x6 Perentie as well.

Mick, don't have any regrets...... I would be scared to take this car around the block on a paved road with Triple A assistance on every corner. There is so much wrong with it, without a lot of major repairs it is not possible to drive this car further then your own drive way.

I bought it as a good running car without any problems.... of course seller doesn't answer emails and phonecalls anymore.........

Anyway, it is a part of the risk buying a car unseen. I still like it although at this moment it is not more then a very expensive yard ornament.
PLanning to fix everything, make it a dual cab an install a camper box from a Land Rover 130 I still have.

And yes, a ''real'l Perentie 6x6 is stil on the list. As a foreigner I can't buy from your Australian Fronlint auction though. Found another one for sale at Gumtree but seller is not responding to emails. Do want a crew cab. Anybody ?

Why not? Many other foreigners do. Even other Americans have.
Have a chat with that mob that does those conversions to the Perenties. KLR, isn't it?

Here is a dual cab 6x6 Perentie for sale on gumtree. I'm sure it's from a car yard. A bit overpriced but worth a look.

Didn't know you two were married to each other.

Get your eyes off. It's mine as soon as I work out where I can put it.

I find the bull bar rather interesting. Similar to an early Perentie.
