			Ignition barrel wiring/alternator smoking

The fuel issues were as a result of the stop motor rengagung on ignition.
I have resolved the stop motor problem by changing the main wires on the ignition barrel, and now the motor stops with the key.
However, the alternator started overheating.
Does anyone have an ignition barrel wiring diagram?
Could the alternator overheating be associated to the ignition barrel being mis-connected?
Background:
Shortly before the stop motor problem began, I obtained a secondhand alternator from a wreckers, and had to cut and rejoin the electrical connectors from the old alternator to suit. However, I was not aware of any alternator overheating/smoking at the time. But I did have the stop motor problem from about that time.
Cheers, Jack
