Who will let me take their 4BD1t for a spin?

Hi All,

I am in the process of prospecting for a new rover, the time has come to move on from my Td5 D2. I thought I would wonder into this group and really see what the fuss is all about with regards to the Isuzu's. You all seem to love this engine, but having never driven one I don't understand the enthusiasm.

But as they say, don't knock it until you have tried it so I will cut to the chase...Is there anyone on here in the Brisbane area who will let me take their turbo 4BD1 for a spin around the block so I can get a feel for it's potential?

Who knows you might have converted another one

Next time I'm up there you can take my 130 4BD1T LT95a for a drive as long as you can tolerate a Defender. They aren't like a D2.
Three statements to say with respect to liking this setup (four really cause that's even number actually)
1. Loads of Torque from idle.
2. Utter reliability no more worries.
3. Easily modified breathing for more of same plus extra.
4. Cheap on fuel. Or relatively so in respect of a setup that will handle four metric tonne towing and idle up mountains with said load...plus obstacles.

And that's pretty much the guts of it.
If you're not up for poor aircon, high cabin heat and noise levels, and poor handling (in comparison to a D2) then you're wasting your time sampling the engine, 'cos its just going to mess with your head

You're welcome to have a drive of mine if you're down this way...
