Steering box removal.
At the Expo at Penrith I got a new steering box for the 110. I have spent almost all day getting it out - finally managed it by loosening the RH front engine mount and jacking up the engine, which just enabled me to wriggle it out upwards.
Anyone else care to comment on how they have managed it?
Apart from this, the only problem was that for some of the bolts I thought I was going to break my 1/2" drive sockets - I was about to go next door to borrow their 3/4" drive sockets when they budged with two feet of pipe extending the bar.
I now need to clean up from all the leaked oil, and am planning to rebuild the reservoir. I need to get new hoses, I hope to be able to get my next door neighbour to get me some hose in town, otherwise I will have to do a trip in there in the 2a.
Also found while I am under the bonnet that the bracket for the aircleaner has broken - again. Already welded it twice, this one is in a different place, I'll have to pull it off to see just what is broken, but the LH strap round the aircleaner is not tightening. Should get the box back in tomorrow, but I doubt I'll get everything else done, and there is a meeting for half of Tuesday on fire planning, so I won't get back onto it until Tueday afternoon at best.
