A while back the crank pulley nut rattled loose and fell off, which I didn't detect until the pulley had moved about 10mm forward.
I bought a new nut, but didn't realised there was a washer behind, but refitted it all temporarily anyway, as I needed to get the truck going. It has been losing some oil from the front of the motor. Could the lack of a washer be causing this, or does the oil seal need replacing?
Just hoping someone can give me a quick response, so I can buy ALL the parts I need this time.
The seal was probably damaged when the pulley was loose, and so will need replacing, but possibly the washer is needed to ensure the pulley is in the correct position, and this is causing the leak.
