Well got back from Sydeney earlier today, with the trailer, about 700kg at a guess:eek:, its fugin huge and heavy:(, all the way up 15l/100km, 110-120 all the way, makeing pace, return was just under 20l/100 via the the first 400 with all the hills:(, the last 600 was just over 15 again:D and thats still 100 110km/h:twisted:, a few of the hills had me back to 80-90 as once post turbo EGT's hit 500c the engine temp would rise, so from then on maintained 100km/h till temps cam to 450 and backed off:(.........keep in mind, that's 3 ton on the back
All in all, I'm happy with the whole conversion:)
I wondered how you got on with it being so early in its life. Phyro temp sounds good with a load like that:) I would not worry unless it got over 650. You need a better rad:) I've seen egt over720:eek: and no change in coolant temp. Anyway well done. Goes ok for an ol oiler;)
My Rad is 4 core I had built for my first:angel: 302, its good and works
Those temps are post turbo not preturbo;)
The head gasket is probably leaking again:(:D:mad:
It was set at 500 max and on the way with just the trailer would pull them fine, but with the other rangie on the back, it didn;t like it
Its not new anymore, I think its run in:twisted:
The rings should be bedded in:eek:
At least it got you back;) I hope.
Is good:), no luck with the rangie I picked up, started off as no tapered roller kit, got home checked some more, 3.54's not 4.11s and motor has milk under the rocker covers, I;m hopeing it was just drowned, not leakin water, but who knows:mad::mad::mad:
But doesn't it go like fug, I mean, it'd be V6 commodore quick:eek:
Jeeeez you win some, you loose some I guess, I'll recover all costs, but won;t be makeing money on this one:(
