What are isuzu county's worth these days?

    Gday All

Thought I'd ask the "isuzu brains trust" this question. I won't bore you with the long and very sad details but I have to sell my pride and joy (I mean county) very soon and have seen very few come up for sale recently so am unsure of what they sell for.

Here are some details to make a value judgement from, has 193k I am second owner, was v8 converted by me 4 years ago with 200k isuzu motor from my 120" ute. Is an 85 model with 4 speed LT95 box with 0.996 TC ratios with new Maxidrive intermediate shaft washers, extra 70L fuel tank on drivers side sill, endless air and tank (underneath with pressure switch), bullbar, siderails, sidesteps, thomas PTO winch (now very rare), drawer system (home made but not bodgy), 2x lightforce 240 blitzes, optima battery, safari snorkel, new rear cross member, fully soundproofed (int and ext), mp3/cd player with 6 speakers, a roofrack, converted to under windscreen vents using late model defender heater core and controls, very good int and ext no - scratches or dents, had all suspension bushes, brakes and radiator replaced in last 3 years. Bucket loads of spare parts (hoses, filters, even a good gearbox etc) all workshop manuals and original landrover manuals (with Aust + 6x6 supplemements). Has Qld blue plate (engineering approval) for engine and extra fuel tank, moved to Brissy from Vic 3 years ago and these were not required there. As you can see I was planning on keeping this car forever, proving that even the best made plans come unstuck. Well maintained oil + filter changes every 5000k, will sit on 110km/h no problems and return 10L/100 highway or city. Jeez its starting to sound like a sales pitch, I'll stop now.

I know I will never get my money back and generally accessories are worth squat all, but what do you think its worth to the right person?

    Cheers
    Luke

you might get $10K for it....(with the right marketing pitch to the right person)

    realistically tho Id expect 5-6.

there is the outside chance that you might just find an honest soul who has the money, recognises it for what it is and is looking for exactly what it is and is willing to pay what its worth to you. But in todays I want everything free and yesterday society I kinda doubt it.

Not so long ago I would have been the "right" person. If all is as you say it is, you could have squeezed 10,000 out of my redraw account. These things are thin on the ground, especially in really good condition. Use lots of photos in your ad and don't give it away.

I'd buy it for 5 sight unseen, without your description.

I'd say 10k is doable IF you find the right person and IF you can afford to wait... but even then, what has changed to alter your lifelong ownership plans? it's cheap to run, cheap to own, cheap to insure, you can biodiesel it easily, you will never get back what you put in and the money raised will not get you out of anything but a pretty small hole or buy you a replacement vehicle without soul.

even if today your situation makes it untenable, in 2-5 years, will it still be the case? reason I ask is that soon (very soon) it will be eligible for club permit rego - do this and it will be mightly cheap to keep....

The problem is that good examples come on the market very rarely most of the people with Isuzu Counties keep them. This means that what you can get for it will depend on having someone who wants one right at the time you want to sell it, and to some extent that person being on the same side of the country as you are. More or less as the others have said. It can be described as a very thin market.

Price will also depend heavily on the condition.

Very hard to set a value, as I told my insurer when I sought to get a declared value policy. They said $2000. I wanted $7000. Sales nowadays are mostly restricted to those who know what they are. A County-Isuzu in reasonable condition with some rego, good tyres, and a Safety Certificate should not sell less than $5000 as a bottom line. Really good ones, low k's, well equipped, have sold in my experience over $12000, and quickly. V8's rarely make $5000 for a top line car.
