Wiring diagram/oil pressure switch

Dave's Disc's parts diagrams indicate it is either 983140-1570 or 983140-3100, but can't find either in online parts searches.

Is there a way to test the pressure switch without knowing if oil is coming up to pressure? My oil warning light won't go out though oil is still being pumped to the rockers...

Is the pressure switch the one with the 2 wires in the top, or just a single connection.
I didn't bother wiring up the one with 2 wires - I just fitted a "normal" single wire one from supercheap into the hole in the oil gallery - forward of where the 2 wire one fits.
If you don't have a pressure gauge and appropriate fittings you could fit a new switch (about $10 from memory) to that point and just check with a multimeter when the engine is running. That will tell you if you have minimum pressure (and that your existing one isn't working correctly).
Alternatively, if you have a compressed air regulator with gauge and some fittings to connect it to the switch (removed from engine) you could use compressed air to test if the switch is working OK.

I haven't looked at the wiring diagram for a while, but I've got a recollection that the 2-wire switch is tied in with the reverse switch somehow.

BTW - I got a couple of hits on those P/N's in Google, but you need to remove the dash and just use the numbers. No useful info or piccy, except that its an oil pressure unit.

EDIT: Those numbers might not be right, they are listed for UNIT; OIL PRESSURE METER, whereas it is more likely to be SWITCH; OIL PRESS. WARNING of which there are 6 versions listed. /EDIT

Now while crawling around trying to find it in the dark to tell how many wires its got, I think I found my problem isn't the switch afterall. There's a little bit of oil spray...will work out where its come form in the morning.

Here's a photo of mine.
You can see the wires and 2 bullet terminals from the 2-wire switch just behind the oil cooler feed pipe. They aren't connected to anything.
The round VDO style pressure sensor to the right (forward) with the red terminal is what I removed to fit a standard pressure switch. Its threaded into the main oil gallery.

Hey Steve just wondering if you know what the thread size of your round vdo pressure switch is?

The switch I got with my gauge does not fit.

Not 100% sure, but I've got a feeling it might have been 1/8 NPT.
It had a brass extension piece that screwed into the gallery, so I just took that into Supercheap and found a pressure switch with the same size thread.
