Would somebody please tell me if a County 110 with a 4BD1 uses imperial or metric fasteners?
The 110 with Isuzu is a real mixture!
With that engine, probably dominantly metric, but there is quite a bit of Unified threads, mainly UNF, but I would not be at all surprised to know there are some Whitworth or even BSF, although I can't think of any off hand.
The original Landrovers in 1948 used all Whitworth, BSF and BA threads (plus a few specials). By the end of Series 1 production in 1958, the change to Unified threads had begun, but was still incomplete when Series 3 production ceased in 1984, by which time the change to metric threads was well under way. Since a lot of parts are interchangeable between models, you can expect surprises.

As has been alluded to - LR changed from imperial - metric during the 80's. But they did it ad-hoc - as each kind of bolt ran out!!! So you are likely to experience some of each.
What year is your county? My 1987 model has almost all metric (think I have found a couple of non-metric, but can't remember what).
At least the engine is ALL metric!!!
My 85 rangie has metric brake lines, that was one of the first things to change.
In my 90/110 workshop manual, SLR621ENWM Edition 2, there are four pages, 07-3 to 07-6 devoted to identification of metric and Unified threads.
According to this all bolts and nuts are marked, metric with an M on the head, nuts with >>>, and Unified with a recessed head on bolts and 000 on the nuts. They also note that threaded rods, if unified have a short core diameter section at the end. There is a warning that brake piping is metric, but power steering piping is Unified thread.

primary engine components will be metric, drive line and gearbox will be a mixed bag brake fittings should be imprial about pre 85 metric after and body fittings will be random....
and thats assuming that a previous owner hasnt had his way with it.

Thank you all for your input. I am going to pick one up and have a fair drive to get it home. I wasn't sure what I might need to take in the way of tooling but knowing it will most probably be a blend is a start. Except if it is Whitworth or that other old stuff, that's why I have seven sizes of multigrips and a set of shifters in a quick draw tool belt!

You probably won't want any tools, but I would carry metric and AF spanners.
