Hi all,
I am looking to buy an isuzu county. This one has come up.
1987 Land Rover 110 County
I know my way around the drive train but the engine is new to me,
I am looking to build a very simple reliable car for a years travel around oz.
I have had a drive and it went quite well, although I really don't know what to look for.
What ever we take it will have a very extensive trip preparation, so I am not to concerned about consumables.

you gave a list earlier on things to check for can you please clarify the following.
Corrosion on thermostat housing-I assume a new thermostat housing would be relatively cheap.
Where will I find oil cooler cover?
Is the FIP the fuel injector pump?
Abrasion to the vacuum and oil cooler lines. Should these be replaced as preventative maintenance ?
Fretting of the pulleys to the fan belt. What do I look for?
Crank pulley drift. How to check and how much is too much?
Abrasion of the timing gear cover.Where to look and what would cause this?
Exhaust soot on the exhaust manifold.What is this showing?
Starter motor bolt tensions.Apart from the starter coming off will this cause any other faults?
Leaks fro the oil pressure sender in the block for reverse gear .What and where to look?
