    first landy

    G'day

I’m thinking about buying a 1984 county 3.9 Isuzu but its got 394 000km on the clock and I’m just after some advice weather it would still be a reliable vehicle or is it to risky with that many km's and the gearbox, diff etc would need some work done to it. the add dose not mention any new or recondition bit's but from the picture it looks like its in good nick(no dents etc..)

If any one can help me out it would be much appreciated

    cheers

Theoretically this engine should be good for a million plus kms. Its a truck engine being used in a low stress environment. Reality is you cant kill em with a big stick. If its got no obvious problems i would nab it. They are becoming rare now.

it probley depends on how it been treated and weather it's been serviced regulary but can the gearbox, transfercase, stearing box etc last as long as the 3.9 with out any expensive work to be done?
