crap on the pickup in the fuel tank.

i undid the fuel line at the sediment filter inlet and blew down the line to the tank and it was fairly well blocked so i hit it with some compressed CO2 and cleared the blockage and refitted the lines and fitting etc etc

tried to do more than 80kph but still no joy (insert plenty of expletives here), so i hooked up my electric fuel pump to the system and tried it and still no gogo so i started to inspect and check tightness on every fitting on the line and this time i noticed a split fitting so replaced that and it sprang into life.

was a fair mongrel to find... but got there in the end thankfully...
    Good stuff

grunt down low is astonishing but i am rather intrigued as to how it will handle the climb up the di'agular range or the climb to the bellthorpe road to the top of the range but need to get clutch with some grippy before i take them on
Try a 1.222:1 TF case from a Disco, I guess from what you have mentioned it has a 1.003:1 high range, which is apparently factory ratios for these. However, My uncles one had 1.222:1 from new, and running 750/16 it was fine in 5th.

I was going to mention turning up the fuel screw a little more, but your comment about the clutch has merit. It WILL slip unless a heavier pressure plate is used, especially in 5th
