He is wrong. I can take some pics of mine if you want. It wasn't an easy job though.

Yep - 3" mandrel all the way through. Admittedly the tube is squashed slightly (1/4" or less) where it passes the bellhousing flanges.

Here is a pic from my turbo install thread. Will take some more though.

The exhasut on my 4BD1T Defender drops down between the engine and the chassis rail and the engine very neatly - 3 inch pipe - perhaps finding another exhaust mob

You must not have the winged sump then.

If you haven't got the winged sump there is room to get a 3" pipe through. I made my header pipe from mandrel bends and straight sections using the original dump pipe on the turbo. If I had my time again, I would probably make a new dump pipe as the angle of the original was a bit of a pain to fit to.

    Cheers, Murray

My good wife has gone to get the air bags etc today so will be into it tonight I hope its worth it I'm still waiting in the in cab control kit and have to re engineer an air tank to fit.
The local exhaust specialist still recon they cant get the 3" between the bell housing and chassis so I have just ordered some 3" mandrel bends and I'll do it my self
Lets see what a mess I make of this as will be fiddly but have done worse with custom exhaust in the past. (Ever tried to stick a 460 in a XB falcon with power steering)

I can run under 0.9 wire in my mig so should be doable. I have an inverter here but is not set up for tig And the OXY with black wire The old school way, still use it a lot
