if your lucky its the dampning springs in the clutch plate...

if your not its the input or front lay shaft bearing...

The Isuzu will rattle the the clutch fork and sometimes even to the extent of loosening the clutch fork pivot pin. Next time you have your motor or gearbox out check for this and if not already done, drill a hole through the bell housing and pivot pin and secure with loctite and a roll pin. Or if you are really keen weld a bolt onto the shank of the pivot pin and drill out the hole in the bell housing so you can put a nut on the other side. PM me if you want photos.

I drilled and tapped the bottom of the pin and drilled through the bellhousing, then bolted it in with Loctite.

Or is the noise simply the gearbox chatter which is normal with the Isuzu? Put the gearbox in gear and the transfer in neutral, and if this is the case it will go away, or at least greatly reduce.

Very normal depending on severity of chatter. As Dave said, could be clutch plate springs but usually if they are that bad, shudder and a 'jerky' clutch are also evident. The bearings, well again the driveability would also be effected, IE noisy under load in all but 4th gear etc.
The LT95 is an agricultural and wonderfully overengineered simple trans, I just raised my idle speed to smooth out the vibes at idle. Especially when the A/C was on I got some pretty average dashboard rattles too

LT85 pulled up Taverner's Hill in fourth from a stand at the bottom of the hill. Have to adjust the horizon slightly in Streetview, quite sure that the previous 4BD1 didn't.

PO told me gearbox had been rebuilt.

I'm expecting great things from a gearbox oil change. Maybe Santa will bring me some Syntrans.
