We currently have a 4BD1 with 4peed from a 1982 Landie in our Rangie, to go 5 speed one option is to bolt a Isuzu MSA5G 5 speed directly to the 4BD1, get/make an adaptor plate to attach LT230, everything else bolts in, the box uses lever action not cable.
So I would now be using an Isuzu starter? meaning the chassis has to be notched?
Do I have the sequence correct for this gearbox/transfer case?
How much lower will noise levels be?
With talk on the forum about 5 speed boxes connected to the 4BD1 and heavy towing being a No No up hill is that still the case.
