Have you cleaned the sieve in the banjo bolt? P$%&k of a thing to get to but does cause all sorts of starting and running problems if it is bunged up with crud.
it can be the lift pump, if one of the one way valves is a bit dicey you can loose the residual pressure in the injector pump and it can bleed down via the traditional leak in the hand primer pump seal.
get him to crack of his injector lines and wind it over, if he gets good pulses first go then its not the supply side and it may be dribbly injectors loosing their prime overnight.

Hi all
A big thanks to all you from the owner of the stage 1 who I had listed this post for, He has informed me that he refitted the earth cable and cleaned it up, it now starts staight away. He wanted to pass his appreciation on to you all for the help.
