If you can get the VIN number of the vehicle from the seller, someone on here would probably be able to tell you something about it's origin, like wether it's a genuine factory Isuzu Landy.

Says good mechanics, but needs a bit of restoration. I guess the motor's worth that alone if it's a good one.

Don't know how to do the linky bit

I have been in touch with the seller.
It was from Northern NSW and originally owned by a flower seller from up there.
    Apparently the electrics are shot
and the heater plenum and air cond have been completely removed.

An LROCV member had some major dramas trying to get a Vic RWC without the air con part of the system as it is required for demist?

Anyway will take a look tomorrow it may be good for spares.

If the demist function is the only RWC issue, it shouldn't be a 'major' one. A standard heater and fan from a Defender or non-air County will bolt straight in.

Did you do some checking on an aftermarket retrofit a/c system?

Also interesting to know why it has a miles speedo - in 1986 it must have originally had a metric speedo if sold in Australia - and if imported privately from the UK, for example, it must have originally had a different engine. Which may be the case anyway - the rocker cover is missing the soundproofing cover fitted to these.

That appears to be a stage 1 motor. The hush kits never had an alum rocker cover under the tin one. Both rocker covers are made of tin on the later motors.

Mine has the aluminium one under the steel soundproofing one. And it is definitely original equipment (1986). I'm guessing that one is a transplant, probably out of a truck although possibly a Stage 1, in what was originally a V8.

My intercooler takes up the available space needed to fit a condenser for an A/C system, and the turbo meant having to remove the factory A/C unit and replace it with a standard heater unit. The factory A/C is crap anyway, I was glad to get rid of it.
As for aftermarket systems, the only type I've considered is a roof mount.......Webasto or similar, but they are not cheap.......Apparently very good, but not cheap. You can get some reasonably compact 12 volt units. They are commonly fitted to truck cabs. The caravan ones tend to be too big as they are usually 12/240 volt.
I would like something like this >>>>>>>>>>> Webasto

In fairness to the seller, he says he'd prefer cash on collection - who wouldn't? He's not going to want to pay the Paypal fees on the final sale price and bank cheques are regularly stolen / forged. I'd want cash as well before a total stranger drove off in my car.

If I sell a more expensive car where cash is out of the question. I suggest that I go to the bank with the seller to witness the cheque being written by the bank, or the seller has to wait until it clears in my account first before the buyer gets the car.

Sorry to quote you twice in a row John!

Anyway, like John's car mine has the original 4BD1 motor, it's a very late 110 (1989 VIN, 1990 Compliance Plate) and it has the alloy rocker cover one under the steel acoustic one as well.
