If you decode the VIN of that car using this online tool:

Clifton Scientific Text Services, the Netherlands

You have to add a digit at the end as there is one missing from the advert (any number will do as it's just the car's unique number)

Anyway it comes back that this car was originally fitted with a V8 motor. I suspected as much because the VIN number of any factory Isuzu engined car (post 1980) has a 'Z' as the 8th letter.

Here's what my VIN comes back with using the above tool:

    Thanks All.

Yes a request for cash is fair do's. You can't argue with folding stuff.

Murray , did you say that a 4BD1 T won't fit in the engine bay with the factory air cond/heater plenum fitted.

Also is it possible to fit Diesel Gas injection to a 4BD1 T?

    Thanks Clean

    So it would appear that

    1. It is possible to fit the factory ( as in Isuzu factory ) turbo 4BD1 T and the original aircon /heater plenum under the bonnet.

    2. Diesel gas injection can be fitted to the 4BD1 T

    Good info

    Thanks again

It might fit, but it's gunna be a tight squeeze compared to the standard heater.
If you do intend fitting A/C, it might be worth checking if you need to modify anything to suit the new refrigerant. The old systems, like was on mine, used R12 which is no longer available. I'm not sure if it's just a different compressor that's needed, or other mods too, I haven't really looked into it.

Murray , one of the donor vehicles may have just had all the a/c and heater etc refurbed. I'm guessing that they dropped in a new refrig gas. Problem is that the newies are not as efficient as the oldies. That would possibly make an already c..p a/c even worse!!
The other car has no a/c or heater plenum fitted!!
Did you get a roughie price on the Wabesto unit?
Thinking of fitting it to the rear section of roof?

Incisor , you stumped me at first. I though you had a top discharge manifold but then I woke up and turned the head 90 degrees.
Sure is a tight fit isn't it.
    That's a factory turbo yes?
My mate does a grouse heat shielding material for GM and Ford vehicles and V8 s'car teams.
I'll definately have to get me some if I go down that road!

I didn't get an actual price on the unit, but just guessing, I wouldn't expect any change form a couple of grand, but you never know.
If I was fitting one I would get advice on the best place to mount it.

    Plus fitting!
Does that include a compressor as the notes offer 6 metre or 11 metre refrig lines.
I thought I read somewhere that if you had an ABN you may not have to pay tax and may get a better price?
