They occasionally come up on the on-line car sales places, and you could put a 'wanted' add in Markets here (top bar above). But expect to spend quite some time looking - as you say, they are scarce, or perhaps more accurately, those who have them are keeping them! It is possible to get a V8, these are rather more common, and cheaper, and do a conversion. This will end up probably more expensive by the time you get the engine and do the conversion, but it may be easier. Note however that the flywheel housing and bell housing to fit the Isuzu to the Landrover gearbox are also in short supply!

    Where are you Steady?

If one in Melbourne interests you , call me on Tuesday.

I just passed up on one as another not so original but better mechanically came available and I bought that instead.

There's another one on Ebay. Needs a bit of work, but looks ok and has a low starting price on it and it's in Melbourne....................

Besides the firewall rust, that's not too bad a buy, providing it doesn't go for much more. Take out the LT85, get a K-spec R380 & do the bellhousing conversion and away you go.

It would have an Lt230 with the 5 speed. If it had a 4 speed, the transfer case and gearbox are all in one, Lt95, same as Rangie
