    Breather

I noticed the short hose which connects the breather to the side of the engine is split.

Another unobtainium part it seems (at least in Perth ). $18.xx plus postage ex east.

There seem to be a few different configurations, can anyone confirm that PN# 8944338711 is correct???

I recall the 4BD1T doesn't have this breather. Can anyone see a problem with swapping thebreather outlet for a plate from a 4BD1T???

Some pics to make things clearer:

And the plate which would need to be swapped over to convert to a 4BD1T setup:

No, as long you give the engine somewhere else to "not explode" to.

Presumably you'd be doing a rocker cover vent to a provent.

Have you tried getting a suitable bit of hose from your nearest hydraulic supply shop? I don't think there is anything magic about it, just a straight bit of hose insn't it?

It is actually pretty special, it changes diameter by 1/4" or 1/2" over that short section.

Something like 1.75" or 2" down to 1.5"

Get an exhaust shop to flare the small pipe up to the larger diameter. Assuming no clearance issues of course.

I already had to modify the elbow to clear the dump pipe. I have about 5mm to spare...

Que??? The rocker cover already has a breather. ALL 4BD1s have a rocker cover breather.
