That's no big loss. There are a whole slew of turbos available new and second hand which are ideally suited to different tunes and uses of the 4BD1.
I have been in contact with turbo glide, I have ordered a turbo kit from him.
But it will be one off the last one's availiable with the turbo he use's. Isuzu had garret make a turbo and garret have been selling it, but now Isuzu have told garret to stop selling there turbo. this is the picture I got and understood anyway.
To clarify it is only the turbo that he has to replace the rest of the kit is ok.

ha do you know if the NA engine has oil squirters cooling the pistons.
the block is drilled for but not fitted with the the squirters.
IVe been informed (by a source I consider iffy) that you can now get drilled rods for these engines that pressure lube the gudgeon pin and also do the cooling for the underside of the piston.

I wonder if using 2 stroke ( as mentioned in the Defender section) would help an n/a & later turboed Isuzu?
Oil squirters on a Landy fitted 4BD1T are basically not required. These engines are designed for 1,000,000KM in a truck, the duty cycle etc in a 110 is a fraction of what these engines are designed for, so don't sweat it
I have a turboed intercooled ex N/A engine in mine, so far so good at +550K

The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈
about time mate
I suspect it is more the case that ISUZU is forcing garrett to up the price on the turbo.
OEM suppliers are usually under an agreement not to undercut the (vehicle) manufacturer. IE, the garrett RRP and/or wholesale price cannot be below the ISUZU RRP (and/or wholesale price).
Not to the extent that it might with some other diesel engines.
When refineries remove Sulphur from diesel, it has the side effect of reducing lubricity. The reduction in lubricity depends on how much Sulpfur is there to begin with, and what process is used by the refinery - Sulphur is a contaminant not a lubricant, but the removal process also removes/changes other stuff.
Inline, fuel injection pumps used on our Isuzu engines are lubricated with engine oil. Unlike distributor pumps on many other engines, which are lubricated by the diesel fuel.
