I'm running (or going to run) a 1.003 transfer ratio, Sheldon already has the gear to modify (given the time he's had it, it may be the one in his images).

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

No 10 speed (5 speed with a splitter) it's why I have to go hi on the transfer.

I may have to clarify a previous post. I am going to run a Disco 1 1:1.222 transfer box with a 1:1.003 gearset from Ashcrofts.

Does this make a difference with unloading the adapter shaft through the LT230?

Its running standard 3.54 ratio diffs, It currently is sitting on 31" tyres, thought I'd see how it drives before I select a permanent tyre size.

BTW: the splitter drops the ratio by half a ratio. Considering the mass of the 6x6 it should give me greater flexibility to maintain highway speed, particularly when loaded.

Cool. And series of gearbox is it?
You may even end up dropping back to a 1.192 or 1.222 transcase in the 6x6.
But that depends on gearbox ratios

IIRC its MSA-5P which apparently is the same ratios as the 5R but with the splitter.

5p should have the same ratios as a 5g.
Which is what i used to run with the 1.003 transcase and 285 tyres, i found it to tall when loaded in the mid to high gears, have now changed to a 1.192 tcase and a 5r gearbox, same mid ratios as the 5g, taller 1st and 5th.

I wouldn't spend much on a transcase just yet as i feel you might be changing it to a 1.222

I think I'll be a bit upset if the box has the same ratios as the 5G, the 5R ratios was part of the required specs.

Did you not pick up my previous post that I am using a 1.222 ratio box out of a Disco 1 and Ashcrofts have already sent me the 1.003 ratio gearset to suit my 1.222 box suffix so I can swap back to 1.222 at any time, provided I have the input gear re-cut for the adapter shaft.
