    centre diff problems?

I may have a centre diff problem, with both front wheels off the ground,I cant turn the front tail shaft,-gear box in neutral, tranfer in neutral,
I removed the inspection plate and the centre diff lock is disengaged.
Any idears? Can the centre diff be replaced/repaired with the box still in the car?
    I have an lt95/lt230t

You have an LT95 OR an LT230, LT95 is the 4 speed with integral transfer case

Either way, it can be done in the car no worries, when you drained the oil was there any sparkley bits?

You just drain the oil, drop the rear prop, hand brake cable, speedo and drop the rear handbrake housing, then the centre diff will fall out

Be sure to grab a gasket set and use them as they set the preload on centre diff bearings

...Thats coz in the LT 230, it comes out with the front housing, but don't forget to first remove the little allen head grub screw, spring and detent ball for the High/ low shift rail, located RH top side of T/C case.

I've only ever had to play with the innards of 1 LT230 years ago, no shortage of LT95's though

But if I remember, there is no reason for the centre diff to not drop out, maybe the spider gears are lunch and gripping the front shaft, or I'm wrong on the LT230.....hmmmm

    EDIT: ^^^^^ Ingore me

Like Matt says, the front output shaft may have a twist in the splines etc and you'll find it easier to just remove the front housing complete with centre diff , shift rail and geartrain, and try and dissassemble on the bench.
