After Market Turbo v Factory 4BD1T

I'm going to start the 110 Build up in March this year going through to Sept.

Intersted to get your thoughts on cost , complexity benfits and otherwise etc of fitting an after market turbo to my recently refurbished Isuzu that goes really well versus fitting a factory 4BD1T and selling the existing engine and loose turbo.

Very little mechanical work will be done by me.

    Thanks

    Pete

Umm - haven't you already asked this question and received plenty of responses???

    To reiterate...

There are plenty of 4BD1s with aftermarket Ts going along without problems (mine included).

If you aren't doing the work yourself, the cheapest option would probably to get one of the kits fitted - e.g. the kit from the turbo place in vic.

Geez , my query was back in May 09

    Memory is not that good

As I am closer to actually doing something , thought I'd ask.

What Turbo place in Vic do you mean ?

Turbo-Glide: Isuzu 3.9 Litre Turbo Kit

Their kit is basically the stock 4BD1T bits. You can do a lot better in terms of turbo choice, but not in drive-in drive-out form for that sort of price AFAIK.

edit - sorry I was wrong, they are in NSW.

To back Ben here, I have their manifold and recommended turbo, I fitted and plumbed it all as I intercooled it also, and running 15psi boost instead of 7.5.

Good system for the $$$. There are better turbos etc availabvle, but at a greater cost. I am extremely happy with mine

The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈

Did you buy direct from TG? A mate asked and was told they did not sell part-kits???

"Their" manifold is just the genuine ISUZU 4BD1T manifold, which you can get cheaper straight from ISUZU.

Sold me the turbo and manifold seperate

Although, should of bought from Isuzu direct for the manifold and a turbo specialist for the turbo, but hindsight 20/20 and all that
