Yes the oil cooler is in coolant,as for the leak can you get to the area?
If so,pressure test the cooling system and watch for where it's coming from.

Anyone know what thread the plug in the top of the thermostat housing is???

There are a series of welch plugs (some are only small ~12mm) on both sides of the head and a large welch plug at rear of head.

There is one welch plug on the left side of the block.

There are no welch plugs on the right side of the block. On the right side, the only potential sources for a water leak from the block are the water drain tap toward rear, or the gasket joint between oil cooler and block. There are no water passages in the oil cooler - the flat, plate like elements, which oil flows through, are simply immersed in the coolant.

Sorry I can't help with the plug size - my thermostat housing is different to yours. My guess would be BSP, probably either 1/4" or 3/8".

Look at the water pump bearing seal - the small hole in the pump body will let out coolant if the seal is gone. This could explain the drip onto the diff. It wouldn't be unknown for coolant to travel along to the back of the motor to leave a puddle there after a trip.

I think this is happening to my 110. Water pump bearing is making a terrible noise. Coolant is slowly dripping near front diff. It is booking in Mon for a replacement water pump.

I had a similar leak from my isuzu. It ended up being from a corroded oil cooler housing (not very thick alloy!). It was leaving a few drops of coolant on the ground after being shut down after a few mins. When it was running the heat and the fan was enough to evaporate the coolant so i could only see the residue around the front of the oil cooler. I ended up poking around the front of the oil cooler cover with a screw driver and found a spot where corrosion had eaten away a small spot from the inside, I was able to poke a small screwdriver tip through

You might want to have a prod around an see if you have a similar problem!
