Well - I put mine in storage while we lived OS rather than sell it...

Sales were also fairly low - especially of later models. In 1984, a 110 cost $22k new. In 1988 $44k!!!

People have told me that there were only 700 5-speed 110 countys sold, however I can't see that being true.

But keep looking, they do turn up.

They do turn up. Unfortunately most who own them know they're sought after now days so price reflects this. Expect to pay around 8 to 12K for a real good one.

worth is what some one is willing to sell for and what some one is willing to pay.

i have posted before that no well sorted 110 eather 200TDI 0r 300TDI including an isuzu will cost less than 15K, given that option an isuzu comes out ahead.

There haven't been many isuzus for sale lately, but the general price (from the small pool) seemed to be $5000 to $8000. I haven't seen any for $15000 yet.

i ment purchase price plus what you spend after

so $15g for purchase price + fixup + fitout. Sounds about right to me. That 15g will go a bit further on a county.

How much of a hurry are you in? The mercs G's are starting to trickle into the country, so I think the perenties should start to be sold off before too long.

tldr; They don't come up much, and as they are getting old condition is everything. Many have had hard lives so it pays to check everything twice.

Every once in a while you see one where someone has spent a packet making it really nice. They usually want twice the 'usual' money for it (I guess a quarter of what they spent doing it up) and everyone jumps up and down laughing with the 'tell him his dreaming' comments..

10months into my 'ultimate LR' project (a 110 Isuzu of course ) and I half wish I paid the 25k for one I saw like this.

As much as the prices are high, they are an old vehicle. Many years and a few hundred thousand Km's of wear and tear take their toll. If you want a good reliable, comfortable 110 you /will/ need to spend some money. Things like brittle plastic (in everything), things that are just warn out etc. I set myself a budget of $25k (incl. purchase price) to 'make it nice'. Not thinking 37inch tires and 4inch lift - just replace the bits that wear out with good quality parts, and add a few things etc.

I've done a lot, and it really is an incredible landrover there are a lot of 'little' things that break that do become annoying.

So stick to your guns. Don't lower your requirements and don't be afraid to pay a couple of grand extra for one that really has been looked after and is in top notch condition because if you have any problems that couple of grand isn't going to go far. Check *everything* when you buy and don't assume that because one is cheap is crap, or that because one is expensive its good.
