    Rebodied Disco 4 Chassis?

Is anyone aware of anyone out there doing a rebody conversion on a disco 3/4 chassis?

I am looking at doing a custom car and am doing some research if anything has been done before.

    Pic for attention only.

As far as I know the new vehicle would have to meet the ADR requirements in place at the time the base vehicle was manufactured.

So my immediate question is - how do you fit a custom vehicle with SRS airbags... ?
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

If the vehicle were to be engineered one path could be ICV . . .

Or if the body fitted already has airbags it might just be a matter of hooking them up in the same way as a std LR airbag (?).

hmmm.... re ICV (from the application form)

NOTE: A minimum of one of the major components (frame/chassis or drive train including engine) of the proposed vehicle must be manufactured by a distinctively different manufacturer than the majority of the other components.

I guess you could put a 4BD1/LT95 combo in it

    Well, that's stupid.

(Particularly since there is so much shared componentry between manufacturers).

    Is it a TDV6?

The chassis is a Land Rover one mate, but the engine is a Ford engine, as fitted to the Territory....

It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

An ICV means a vehicle based on a floor pan or chassis which is neither taken from, nor an original replacement part for, a Recognised Production Vehicle.

I need to turn on my notifications. I didnt see that bit. I guess if you used the chassis and engine drivetrain it would come under a different classification.

How about a 1HDT? A 4BD1 has a lot of appeal though, with an uprated turbo, what auto box would you use?

Sounds like it wouldnt go under icv anyway.

If i used a 3.0L V6 tt, there would be heaps of benefits, and no matter how heavy or light it ended up the airbags would make it sit right. But all the complex electronics(!).
