A cummins ISF 3.8L 4cyl 125kW 600Nm at 1300rpm might be damn nice. Connect up a cummins computer and tweak the power up a bit if you like, post any engineering.

Does anyone have an idea on the cost of a Disco 4 with a stuffed body?
Secondhand, without a stuffed body, they seem to start around the $30k mark(?).

And the cost of what is left after a Disco 4 has had the body, engine, gearbox and transfer case removed?

I realise a Disco 3 would be a lot cheaper and more available, but in the first case i would really want the twin turbos, and in the second case i would really want the bigger brakes, unless the brakes can cheaply and easily be upgraded.

The end result will need to have a rear locker, and hopefully somehow a front locker.
