My weekday shave alternates a bit through the collection, but at the moment the slim is my daily shave. Before that I was using a fatboy. Before that.. um.... I cant remember...
Yeah, it's an old German LUNA from WW1. Quite an agressive shave, so you need to take your time, else it can bite you.
The Gillette 195 Slim Adjustable is a dream. I find setting #4 to be ideal for a twice weekly shave, and the weight and balance very nice too.
If your shaves are a bit further apart, crank up the number. Or if you're shaving more often, you can wind it down a bit.

I use disposable three bladers and get at least a month out of them by shaving in the shower. I shave daily and have done so since a teenager.
If you don't want to buy shaving foam there is the oil that you only need one drop of and rub it on with hot water, it does a good job.
The old local barber I used to go to for haircuts was an absolute master with a straight razor and he would always clean up the back of your neck with it! It was a job that could not be reproduced with any other razor.
Non of our local barbers will use a blade or do shaves, as I enquired recently and was told it's basically the "blood rule" thing!
There's no exscuse for any hair below the eyebrows

Cool.
Do your blade boxes have lids? I have a couple that belong to my LUNA, but they are lidless. Blades don't fit really well in them either. They only fit diagonally, not flat.
That seems strange.. mine have lids.
Absolutely. Les Smooth in North Sydney. Gillian has great hands. They actually use a proprietary wax they have made for different areas too. She's developed it over the years and I've been able to tell the difference when they change.

My god Man, do you then start your business as a Private Investigator and go and questions dames or broads, all the while secreting a .45?
Just having a dig mate, I do agree: A good shave really is a work of art.
I have my eye on a few straight razors at the moment, but I'm saving for a rear locker so.....
Disposable razor it is for now![]()
Lol... I like finding enjoyment and pleasure where i can. Doing it right, developing the right feel and putting yourself in the right frame of mind makes for a much more colourful life.
I read something about land rovers the other day, and ill have to paraphrase because I can't remember where it was, :-
"Sure, they are boxy and agricultural. They ride rough. Their internal appointment is simple and old fashioned. But I can't help but love it. Every time you climb behind the wheel it feels like an adventure".
It struck a chord with me. I like hats, single shot rifles, women with curves and cars with chrome bumpers.
Take your pleasure where you can find it I say.
