Yep the whole supercar circus is turning into a joke with the WA leg being the most sub standard or the lot.

I don't know how Qld Raceway keeps getting the V8 there , there pits are not very goog & they don't catter for the public very well & the track is not very interesting .![]()
When these races started it was production cars, slightly modified, but still a car you could buy from the dealer.
I think having a category of 3.5litre V6 would give very exciting racing with cars that you can actually buy, 3.5 seems to be available with most manufacturers, Volvo, Nissan, Renault, Toyota, Holden (and I believe soon to be Ford), Peugeot etc.
Bring back different, all the current cars are the same chassis, same transaxle, all you get is a company engine and looks the same as body panels (Nissan had to produce larger looks the same panels to fit the chassis available).
No matter what people think about car racing, it does improve safety and performance and fuel economy etc.
It just ain't going to be the same any more.
