Tassie crew - needs some advice

    Hi all,

I know this is off topic but I need your advice,

apparently there is a supplier of FIAT parts in Longford.

I've only heard about this third hand, but if any of you know please tell me who the supplier is... I need parts for the X1/9.

    Thanks very very much.

    Cheers, GQ

    Whats up with it?
Spent Monday night trying to help my Brother start one. It had been mostly sitting for the last 4 years and wasn't interested in starting. Currently at the mechanics getting a full service.

Needs a clutch kit, George, and a water journal, I'll contact them tomorrow (friday) and if they have lotsa stuff, I might get some suspension bushes as well, I'd like some new seats, too and the aftermarket radio housing, maybe some new carpet.........

...it had a body and engine rebuild in 1995 and is in pretty good nick, but I never got around to doing the interior, which is now getting a bit tired...

...fun car, handles brilliantly, 40+mpg, runs real quick on 98 PULP.

    Thanks for the info guys!

Yea my Bro's one needs some cancer extraction. I was surprised at the holes. I also think someone has been replacing the electrics with Lucas gear.

George: Never had an electrical prob with mine, fortunately, and the rust issue was the doors, along the bottom, picked up replacement doors from a wrecker in California, two for $150, shipped to Aussie, only took a month. Then the whole car was rubbed down and repainted.

    Now for the clutch...

G'day Quiggers. Maybe obvious, but have you tried the Fiat Car Clubs. In my day of Fiat ownership they were the ducks guts for parts and prices. I know they're getting long in the tooth but they have their avid owners as do Land Rovers.

Bro just got the bad news from the mechanic.
    X19 needs
Head gasket, front wheel bearings and the clutch piston is leaking. Didn't get to hear the rest of the list.

He has it booked in for 4 weeks time so as punishment the clutch totaly failed today on him
