I like it, but the suicide rear door is only on one side (asymmetrical), needs to be on both sides. Barn doors at the back are a nice touch of the old traveler as well

Famous quote by Sir Alec Issigonis (designer of the original mini)

" A camel is a horse designed by a commitee"

I think this is fitting for this monstrosity.

I wonder if other forums had a similar debate when Landrover released the original "Discovery"

i hate the new mini with a passion... they did a reasonable job of the in keeping with the original styling, however they lost the main feature of the mini...

the fact it was MINI! but also had a max amount of room inside...

i guess the question is ... how many would they of sold if they had called it as NM suggested..the maxi?

i'll be looking for another one day soon... ahhhh the thoughts of my 1973 850cc mini that i used to have.... but then the tin worm won (as it was in the uk)

    Thanks

The original Mini was an engineering masterpiece. But times and regulations have moved on from Mr Issigonis' belief that passive safety devices were unnecessary in the Mini as it handled so well it would never have an accident! Requirements for front, rear and side impact absorbtion prevent a vehicle in the true spirit of the original Mini. Just be grateful they didn't completely alter the design concept, as VW did with the New Beetle.

IMHO, a mini is not a mini when it is made by BMW...

INTERESTING - they still look pretty much Miniesque but you can see the BMWness coming through... My vote they are still a Mini, they still handle really well I can tell you!!

actually I think a slightly scaled down version of the current shape suzuki swift is more miniesque, especially in profile with a white roof.

can't find a pic to illustrate *sigh*

anyway, on the original question I like the traveller style and suicide doors, just not a huge fan of the car itself... make mine a MOKE
