I've managed to acquire some passes to the Murwullimbah night special stages on Thursday - Saturday evenings .
I'm aiming to head down either Friday or Saturday night. Should be good!

Dunno if I'd be spending my money on tickets just yet. On the news last night, one of the Tweed councillors and a bunch of "greens" have launched court action to have the event banned, on the grounds that it is "environmentally unsound".

Where to these wacko's come from ????
    Cheers .........

I'll be running the Defender around the courses as 'Rapid Response/Recovery'. I will be all over the place over the 6 days so if you see the 'OMY130' rego plates stop & have a chat. We will be based at Grevillia Community Hall along the Summerland Way. Should be on Channel 17 on UHF.

PS: As late as Thursday night, the rally is still going ahead. Read below.

FEDERAL COURT DISMISSES BID TO STOP RALLY AUSTRALIA
The Federal Court in Sydney today (Thursday, August 27) dismissed a last-minute attempt to stop next week’s Repco Rally Australia.

The court held an urgent hearing to hear an application for an injunction by Ms Katie Milne, a Tweed Shire Councillor.

After Ms Milne’s representative had presented her case, Justice Stone dismissed the application because Ms Milne’s case was without merit.

Garry Connelly, the Chairman of Rally Australia’s organising committee, said he was not surprised by the result.

“We have always complied with all laws and have spent a lot of time and effort to achieve the highest environmental standards,” Mr Connelly said.

The one thing Garry was always good at,,,

    paperwork.

He seems to have come a long way since the popular Kempsey events in the eighties.

We havn't left yet and probably won't be going now, the entry fee per person is something like $50 just to spectate + with one stages already been canceled (stage 6) due to protestes, we might be better off staying here and waiting for it to come on tv
