I'm a little worried about that engine cause its sat here for so long..Just remember squirt a little oil in the sparkplug holes..The only problem i occured with the rebuild of it was one of the head bolts , One of the center ones striped the thread in the block, BUT i fixed it properly with a recoil & tools the engine machine shop lent me.& it did tension up properly..Its the first time i've ever used one for that..But it will be all fine i'm sure..Put it this way it will have some kick once use get it all going .

Oh yeah nip all the sump bolts up properly to..

You know those little plastic thingys that are the moving bit in the bonnet hinge... ?

Mine keep breaking - splitting right in half!

Have you had that problem? I have started a thread in the series 3 area but thought I may as well come and ask 'the oracle'.

we did notice the engine was quite hard to turn over by hand. But i guess we will know soon.
In reply to drifter we have never split them but occasionally had them fall out. Are you sure you are putting them on right as I thought from memory you can put them on back to front but it puts alot of pressure on them

Same here. When they do work it's a buggers muddle as to who they come from - sometimes they are sent by dave@davecandoit.com.au and sometimes they are sent by aulroadmin@aulro.com

Na i've never had trouble with them spliting..I did have one slide out all together .I put them in first then sit the bonnet on them , Just undo the bonnet holder first ..
