Ok so today I pretty much finished it all off , The second battery is fully finished & up & running great..I just have to wire up the driving lights & put my UHF in & hook it all up then its fully finished . I also brought the sides for the awning , from the same company we got the awning from they sell quiet a lot of accessories for the awnings all sorts of atatchments for them..

When I got my lights the fuse box came aswell

    Fitted the redark isplator

Starter battery all clamped in since it was just sitting in there, Also hooked up the winch & redark

Wired up the fuse box & second battery

I put the power to the fridge just to make sure it was all good..
    IT WORKS.

So that's where ive been the last few days. Hopefuly I should get it all finished tomorrow.. One can hope.

I put one of those fuse boxes in the Stage 1 for the second battery. I then ran wires from it to anderson plugs at the front and back of the vehicle so I can plug my solar panel in from either end of the car. I can also use the rear anderson plug to provide power to the camper so it charges the battery in the camper, too.

It doesn't take long to use up all of those connectors on the 8-way fuse box.

Driving my bus last night, (about 6pm) I stopped at the layover spot at Fletcher, which is reasonably isolated with bush surrounding it, there are houses about 200 metres away.
I hopped out of the bus and spotted this cardboard box, laying on its side, it was about 1 metre square and looked like it hadn't been there long. At first I took no notice and as I had ten minutes before I did the return trip to the University, I decided to have a look inside it.

Could you imagine my surprise when I looked in and peering back at me was a live CHOOK, fully grown and orange in colour, it gave a little braaack, braaack.

I thought, what am I going to do, I can't leave the poor thing to die and I can't take it with me on the bus. So I rang Mrs Aus. and asked her to come and get it, we live only ten minutes away.

I had to leave, but she managed to find it and took it home, and gave it something to eat and a drink of water, she said it just drank and drank.

My eldest daughter, who lives at Belmont keeps chooks (the ornamental type) and she also looks after stray injured and sick birds for a local wilderness society,so Mrs Aus took it over there. The daughter had a spare cage, so she put the chook in there to keep an eye on it to make sure it is OK. She also wanted to isolate it from her own chooks for a while in case of disease.

The bottom of the box was taped up with blue "Duc" tape and had Kennard written all over it, so the only thing we can think of, that somebody was moving house and the poor chook, has fallen off a ute or something.

Lucky it was where it was because if had of fallen anywhere else, nobody would have looked.

    Chook Update

Mrs Aus rang the daughter yesterday to check on the chook. It appears it may have been injured in the fall. It won't walk so there may be problems with it's legs and one of its wings is not right.

The daughter knows a lot about chooks and she says they heal quickly, if it's not a major injury. If its not right in a couple of days she will take it to a Vet. she sees the vet regularly through her work in looking after sick and injured birds.

Mrs Aus and I are going with the works social club for our Christmas dinner tomorrow. We are going on the "Solar Sailor" (I think it's called) on Lake Macquarie.

I have often seen it anchored out near Speers Point and wondered what it was. It has solar panels all over the top of it and "wing like things" that lift up and point solar panels towards the sun.

I will get some piccies and post them. Should be an interesting day, looking forward to it.

Well Karen had her liver biopsy yesterday, Had to be at the hospital at 7.30 am for a 9.30 theatre time slot but they where running late so was 10.50 by the time she went in.. It didn't go as planed , usualy the needle just goes straight in BUT no not with Karen the needle couldn't peirce the liver so had to use lots of force ,, You could see it on the monitor where the needle just pushed the liver around .. Had to have 2 biopsy's taken.. When done she had to lay around for hours after it..Got back home around 4pm.. Was sore when home so slept well for awhile But is very very sore today , She cant walk or sit for long so has to lay down.. we need to make an appointment with the specialist ASAP as he wanted us back within the week of the biopsy..
We will keeps use updated as we find out more ..
She is still loosing weight alarmingly fast though & isn't eating to much..
