Thread: Embarrassment

Well the car has all been sorted..We just have to wait till our money is in & all good..Should be this month & then we can pay & all will be good.

Well last weekend Karen , Vickie & Fred went to the Maitland 4X4 & camping show..Here are some pics of the day..

And FRED found this car & says she wants it ..Its one of the BIG F series fords..



Also got a HAT & the ozpig we saved for weeks to get..Although the hat did'nt fit me so someone else scored that BUT it suits her & fits well..









Its a ripper & we love it..

Gee, if I had known that some Landy's were going to be there I would have gone too!!!! By the way when is the big day for the arrival of the S2A???

Probably towards the middle or end of June, Jim. I am waiting for one of two car trailers to turn up. (I have access to 2 trailers but they are both away at the moment). I put new tyres on the back of the Disco this morning for the trip... The old ones had only done 115,000k with me driving (don't know how new they were when I bought the car) so I am a bit annoyed...

The guy in the tyre shop was blowing them up and I said "38psi please".

"No", he says, "you should be running 50 in all 4".

"Hmmm, what a pity", I replied. "I only had 28 in the front and 38 in the back because that's what the owners manual says - and I only got 115,000 out of those back ones. Guess I made a mistake, huh? Now put 38 in them. You know I will only reset them when I get home."

He wasn't happy.

Hey Jason, next weekend will be open day at Fort Scratchley and they will be firing the 6 inch guns. As you know, I served at the Fort before the Army moved out. Not on the big guns though, they were before my time.

I will take a couple of the grandkids up there as they have never been there before!!

I notice they have ex-military vehicles on display, should be some Landy's there I would imagine. The S2a was the vehicle then in use, when I was there in the late 60's. Also, I hope there will be Studebaker and GMC six wheel drive trucks that we used as gun towers. Would be good to see the old girls again.

Bet they don't have a 40mm Bofors Anti Aircraft gun there though, that's what I served on.
