BAD JOS? from td5INSIDE.... keeping people waiting for the power

    Really sorry mate!

Last couple of weeks (as always) have been very busy. We were in the UK to tune some cars for driven to the edge, we had a 24 hour race with a bowler td5, and we were finishing a 110 to be press car @ the dakar rally.
To be honest I tought you had this already Will send it later today when I get back to the computer with winOLS.

Well I received the new map and all I can say is that it has made it even better again ☺ Pulls strongly when needed and smooth power delivery when driving normally. It took awhile 😉 but thanks again guys ! Great work as usual.

Jose, how do you expect these turbo's to spool with the HD low stall torque converter? I had a VNT on the list in hope of quicker low down spool/torque but have now come across this thread.

Also keep in mind the lower stall flash point produces less exhaust gas on take off compared to the standard auto's you would have been testing.
    Cheers.

Jose, On top of my last post, how about providing some dyno graphs with real world scenarios for some of your D2 customers I.E D2, Auto, 15 - 20psi boost? possibly an uprated intercooler. Also overlaying results over standard turbo graph.

The above setup seems to be quite common in the D2 forum and I haven't read about too many people running 25+psi. I have great interest in your work but planning a best setup to tow a caravan differs from your all out race setups.

Lastly, will you offer a "no bling" option? I don't need fancy paint and a coloured compressor wheel. If it lowers the cost price then bonus.

    Cheers.

Turbo housing can be send fully stock colour with no problem. The compressor wheel is colour anodized to give resistance, but that can be done with silver colour , so will look standart. No impact in price tough.

Unfortunatly we cant have all sort of cars with all sort of setups in our dyno. We do testing and preview scenarios and uses, but cant have all different things/setup that exist on the market fully tested This also happens with the car makes... If I remember, Land rover has numbers and graphs for disco and defender, but does not show Manual or Auto, EU2 or EU3 (injector pressure/IC syze) , 90 or 130, with or without EGr, and as we all know there are few differences between them.

All the dyno graphs I've showed are not race setups maps... car's run a lot of mileage every year. They show what we can achieved with turbo, calibration and other performance changes wich I've described allong with the graphs.

This said, what we are doing all the time is getting feedback of costumers and users and improving the product, triyng to match every specification possible and every use/cenario and, along with the remap, getting a good compromise for good performance.

Unlike the standart turbo, we have different spec turbo for Defender and discovery... Auto and Manual disco are different asweell. Diferences are mainly in the compressor billet, exausth housing angle and turbo size... Of course all this matched to different spec remap.

There are a few owners/costumers already using the turbo so I reckon some very detailed feedbacks/reviews will soon start to be made.

...not if we change some parameters in the remap file wich can even be idle speed

Thanks Jose, which spec would you recommend for quickest possible turbo spool-up?, and what would be the mid-high rpm range power compromise be in choosing the quicker spooling spec.

I'm holding out for more reviews, hopefully one with the lower stall HD converter.

    Cheers.

I am running a similar set up to Sprover. Allisport intercooler, auto and 23 psi boost on the hybrid turbo. I have found it more responsive from the start and mid range is very strong. Overall it is a much more relaxed drive and overtakes well on the highway. I have also towed my car trailer and small tractor recently and the extra torque was definitely noticeable. I would recommend it for anybody looking for some more performance and increased torque.
