Rear Disc Brake Stone Guard Reinforcers - Stiffies for short!

Defender Rear Disc Brake Stone Guards are veryimportant, stopping stones hitting the discs. Unfortunately they arenotoriously prone to cracking and in many instances, coming completely looseand damaging the ABS line.

This is a real issue for anyone heading bush oncorrugated dirt roads. The problem first surfaced for me with the 110 in theform of a very very annoying squeak. Luckily I found the problem just before theycracked all the way through and did further damage.

The 130 has not fared any better after just onetrip?..

One fixing point cracked completely off and oneother badly cracked. Clearly these would not have survived another trip.

A genuine replacement set is around $145 per pairbut Nugget Stuff now have a solution for just $50.

Laser cut from 2mm steel and zinc plated to stoprusting, the Nugget Stuff Rear Disc Brake Stone Guard Reinforcers are easy tofit and stop the vibration which causes the originals to fail

Because they fit over, and use the originalfitting points, the Reinforcers work with already cracked guards and can be fitted by anyone with a10mm spanner, 5mm drill and a tube of silicon sealant.

Supplied are 2 zinc plated 2mm thick steelReinforcers and all nuts and bolts. All for just $50 per set from Nugget Stuff, Mulgo and British Car Components.

Will these also fit D2s or are the guards different?

According to Paddocks spares (used because they have pretty pictures) defender rear mudshields are the same as early D1s but D2s are a different part number and different looking beast so the stiffies won't work

Damn, I wanted stiffies for my D2 (partly for the job they do and partly because I'd enjoy asking other landy nuts "Would you like to see my stiffy!")

Can you do a stiffie for the Defender 90 rear mudflap to stop it melting in the exhaust area?
