The TM-2 has an optional provision to alarm on Low oil pressure.

This is normally disabled on our kits as when the ignition is turned on
the alarm sounds immediately due to having no oil pressure.
This masks the Enginesavers test beep and can be quite annoying.

The provision is still there though and If you want it just let me know when you order a kit.

I am going to fit a VDO pressure gauge on the Defe but I just wonder how hard will be to have a delay switch in the system to avoid the alarm coming on ?

You need to ask TM-2 about that one.

Most oil alarm switches come on just above idling pressure which isn't very much.

Put a 5 second delay on that & your engine could be damaged at Highway speeds.

Murphy gauges make a mechanical adjustable alarm, but it is normally set at just above idle pressure, which isn't a lot of good at running speed.

An oil alarm needs 2 settings.
Idle pressure, and cruising pressure with a sensor to tell the difference.

I don't know if anyone makes such a device, but there is a market there
    for a bright lad.

The other alternative is to fit a gauge and hope you spot the drop if it happens.

Looking on the bright side, most oil pressure problems happens right after a service when the apprentice didn't screw the filter on tight enough or when he didn't tighten the sump plug up tight enough.

The other one is when the oil cooler develops a leak into the cooling system.
In this case the low coolant alarm will pick it up straight away as soon as the oil emulsion surrounds the probe.
( Happened to me last year on a commercial vessel)

The Engine Saver went off well before the motor got hot or all the oil pumped into the cooling system.

got mine friday, fitted today. got the oil light warning alarm fitted up. i had an idea about the alarm on start up. hows this sound ?
if you run a relay off the alternator that only allows the signal from the oil pressure swithc to go to tm2 when the alterator starts charging, that will stop the alarm going off when ignition is on but engine is not running. hows my logic sound before i go start running more wires all over the engine bay
