Errrr um a bit OT but how good are automatic dishwashers as spares washers?

I assume I should avoid too much salt in the detergent?

I hear they do a great job cleaning gearbox casings and other cast alloy bits.

It's the spending a good part of a day cleaning out the dishwasher you've got to watch out for.

Diesel. Leave it for a while and the dirt settles out.

    This it what I use.

For my parts washer it can't be water soluble. Water is used to clean the solvent.

Moto National Accessories - Shell Narrow Cut Kerosene

Not this specific brand but find it allround a great parts washer solvent. High flashpoint is a major reason I use it.
