    RYOBI Multi-Tool's Dark Secret

    Long story, but edited version is... the 18v 'One+' Ryobi Multi-tool, has the same mounting bayonet as the AEG Omni Pro system.(expensive motor/handle, but cheap heads) The release button are hidden under the Ryobi's grey rubber.

    Tried to post the pics, but seeing as I've already put them on another thread they won't re-load.
    Well, I lobbed in.....

    Is that a problem? I though AEG made better stuff than Ryobi? They used to anyway. No idea now with all this global manufacturing.

    I've heard that ryobi owns the electric tool division of AEG.

    I didn't know AEG and Milwaukee were part of Ryobi. Both have a better "name" than Ryobi.

    Usually little things, like plastic thickness, colour or minor differances in formulation.
    Internals can often be the same such as rotors, the 'Professional' might have a bearing mounted into a metal cup in the plastic moulding vs plastic moulding only... Or thicker plastic moulding...
    The handyman level stuff lasts just a long if you take more frequent tea-breaks and let it cool a bit.!

    Wow, I don't even look at ryobi, as my experience with it over the last 5years is it doesn't even last the time it takes to pull it out of the wrapping (last one was a 4" ryobi angle grinder.... Lasted about 3minutes before I stripped the fail little plastic gears out of it's head .... my old makita 4" griinder that I've used so hard I've dropped it's overload switch many times on days of extreme heat running large wire brushes in it ..... it still works as good as the day I got it ... ).

    I refuse to even consider ryobi these days, figuring the cheapest ****iest "no brand name" tool will be superior.

    Mental note: Avoid AEG too

    I have a brutal old AEG 9" grinder ... German made, brilliant (deadly) thing. No doubt the current ones are chinese **** if there made in the same factory as Ryobi ...urggh....
