Thread: Smaller torque wrench?

Vlad, NORBAR is excellent and expensive. I paid 200 for mine 20 years ago. I'm not sure what else is available. ( Snapon?)
Small torque wrenches are not cheaper than big ones, because they not made in vast numbers.

I used it on my alloy engined cars and motorbikes, and it's money well spent, avoiding the pain and inconvience of one stripped alloy housing / helicoil repair is worth it .

Norbar or WARREN and BROWN, only way to go, I've got 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, and 3/4 in W and B, also got 3/8 and 1/2 in Norbar, all excellent quality

As in drive size, and torque range?

I already have a large one for use on my 4WD but need a smaller one for bike use, (and specifically in this case the oil pan bolts and sump plug)

I should add - Jap bikes so Metric.

For more than 30 years I have used Britool torque wrenches in a very delicate and expensive equipment.
Any of their sizes are excellent.

I'm using a couple of Norbars and love them. I'd suggest the TT50 or TT100, depending on the lightest torque setting your require.

Another Warren & Brown 1/4" tension wrench here.

Bought specifically for kart engine and auto tranny use nearly thirty years ago and still going strong.

Inhereted a 1/2" drive Ritch from the fifties that was still spot on when tested last.

Vlad, eliminate all 1/2 " drive they are too strong and too big only suitable for the cylinder head bolts or frame bolts motorbike.


My small torque wrench is 3/8 drive though I mostly use it at low torques.

I'm not at home at the moment but from my memory my small nor bar goes from 5- 45 newton /metrs. It almost reached the minimum setting of my 1/2" drive one.

I might add mostly I use it with the 3/8- 1/4 adapter, I used it on the covers of my motorbikes, rocker covers, timing cases etc on alloy V6 etc.

It will cover all your needs except maybe bottom end bolts cylinder heads , frame bolts.
