    Our New Toy

Recently, my wife and i hired a camper trailer and spent some time away during the christmas break, from the nsw outback, to the ski resorts near mt hotham, to camping on the ninty mile beach, when we got home, we thought that because we had such a good time, we decded to bite the bullet and decided to buy ourselves an off road camper. My wife was after the creature comforts whereas i was happy with a off road camper trailer. So i guess we comprimised a little and decided to purchase a 1996 Goldstream Goldwing.

    Here are some pics

Very nice - hope it works out for you.

I'm surprised I didn't come across you on your trip - I spent a bit of time around 90 mile beach (camp 18) as well as a fair bit of time through the High Country.....

    Cheers
    Chris

Awesome, I am looking at getting a van, camper trailer, tvan or something. How long does it take to set the van up? This is my issue, I want something quick & easy for overnight stops etc.

The Gold Stream is well made compared to something like a Jayco.
I went for a camper van because of 2 kids and the value for money compared to the larger camper trailers.
The only draw back has been the extra weight off road on the tow vehicle.
    Good luck Ron

Grover sorry to hear your Jayco is not that well built. Our 4 month old 18' Outback Poptop is really well made and we are very happy with it and so far it has gone everywhere with ease where we have wanted to take it.

    cheers,
    Terry

Hi guys, how long does it take for these types of vans to set up. Are the bedding areas quick & easy? What about packing up? Any regrets or things you would change?
    Thanks, Dave.

Well done. Enjoy getting away in it and the freedom it brings.

BTW - the camper trailer caused us to sell the Defender and get the Disco for the extra power for towing.
