Hi Fluids,
I used to own a 3kva Yamaha gene that I sold because of the sheer size and weight. How does the Honda 3kva measure up size and weight wise?
cheers,
Terry

Hey Terry .... 59kg. Not sure how the size compares to a 3kva Yammie ?? It's a whole class above the the EU20 units. An EU20 running A/C is having its nuts squeezed
EU30is | Super Quiet | Honda Power Equipment Australia
It's quiter than the EU20i, and being an inverter, running Pedro's intended load, it would loaf along on part throttle ... quiet, and reasonably ecomonical (13L Tank).
It's transportable (bolt it to the draw bar).
For a little less bulk and more portability (35kg?) there's the EU30iu Handy .... but not as quiet. It's got a fold out pull-along handle & wheels. Recoil start, no electric like the bigger brother.

For those that must run A/C, bigger vans & motorhomes, the EU30is is the unit.
The way I believe it should be done, is to run an Inverter A/C on the van ... not an old style cycle on/off type unit ... an inverter a/c run by an inverter gen' set is the ideal setup .... some of the "RV" style a/c units are bloody hopeless, take heaps of power to run, and cost a kings ransom ... where you can buy a standard household split inverter a/c for cheap $$$ and mount in a van just as easy as in a house ... !! .... and parts and service can be has by just about any fridge mech' out there ....

We have a couple of large 12v fans. They are not to noisy and they flow air around the van very well. The last one we got from Supercheap last weekend.
They are fairly flat as well with about a 300mm fan.
EU30is - OPERATING NOISE LEVEL (AT 7M)52dB(A)*/65dB(A)
EG3600cx - Sound Level- 70db
Thank you Simon;)
just for you--

I am just thinking aloud here-(just stop Simon,,,) but seeing the weight involved,
and the $$$ and its position on a rear bar of some description, the security box it would be in could also double as a sound stopper, lined with this or something like it,,

A daiken 5kw inverter type is around $1700 plus the install of 600,, which is around 3 times what the IBIS install is,,
I have no doubt the Daiken is the superior unit.
hmm I wonder what the power draw on that is,,,
Regarding fans, if anyone is considering one even for a camper then here is a link below to one that is really good, they are extremely quite and use next to no power. Best thing is the 3 speed fan is mounted in a gimble so it can blow air in any direction. I have one in the van and for summer it is a godsend and worth every dollar.
