I see in the pictures that the trailer has bracing under the draw bar. Make sure that anything welded to the draw bar like that is welded to the SIDE of the bar, not the BOTTOM.

I looked at making my own, but in the end bought one of the ex raaf track trailers.
The entire trailer cost me only 5$ more than the cruismaster suspension quote you have, and it has the Track MC2 suspension which is regarded to be the best trailer off road suspesion you can get.
I have spent a bit of time, money and effort getting the suspension blasted and re powder coated, along with new bearings and electric brakes so its like new now

I got mine off a forum member. I may know of another one for sale it seems. I have just asked a mate, but this isnt for definete.
